Raised in Tampa, Florida, with Puerto Rican and Cuban roots, Angel has spent the past eight years living and working in Los Angeles. Across 255 pages, the images explore heat, movement, sweat, intimacy, and desire. Inspired by the glossy, almost tactile quality of his photographs, Calor captures moments that feel vibrant, sensual, and alive.
The title Calor, meaning “heat” in Spanish, speaks to both the physical and emotional atmosphere running through the work; a feeling of warmth, intensity, desire, and the energy of bodies in motion.
